Abstract
In order for oceans, seas and marine resources to successfully promote to our well-being, ecosystem integrity, with properly functioning processes is required. It is recommended to perform SWOT analysis to identify and evaluate internal and external factors that support or threaten the protection effectiveness of marine protected areas. This study highlights that the SWOT analysis can be shown as a tool for more properly interpreting and communicating the difficulties of the interaction between socio-economic and environmental situations.
